McHenry Sportsman’s Club Newsletter (July 2009)

FINANCIAL STATUS - July was an OK good month and OK financially.   Major expenses for the month: $340 for a PTO clutch for the Cub Cadet and the lease payment of $1,500.

TRAP OPERATIONS - The Club threw 1,337 practice rounds in July which was slightly less than July 2008. Target costs were $2,867 in July.

PROJECTS - Green squares are painted on all traps. Need numbers on a couple.

  • Trap #1 top opens thanks to Mike Lunebach and Butch Ackerman. This is the test to determine if the approach used will work. Plans are to open the tops on the rest of the houses once we prove out the method used on #1.
  • Club house is partially painted. The front needs to be painted and the deck stained

CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP - (view results) was held on July 17th with 56 shooters.

  • Bob Shaw is the new Club Champion with 97/100.
  • Butch Ackerman took the High Over All Buckle,
  • Matt Woods the Singles Buckle,
  • Al Prokopek the Doubles Buckle
  • and Greg Rauhut the Wobble Buckle.
  • Greg Timm won the Pitzin Buckle.
  • Roger Schad took Long Yardage
  • and Gene Higby took Short Yardage.
  • High Vet was Rick Van Etten,
  • High Lady Noell Mach,
  • and High Junior Katy Rauhut.

MEMBERSHIPS - Club membership is at 278 at the end of July.

WAD KNOCKERS - can now be purchased at the counter for $6.

NEXT CLUB MEETING - Saturday, September 5, 2009 at 5:00PM in the Club.
